Definitely did not realize it was 9 10 11 on Saturday haha. Any who, Saturday was the day before the outdoor portion of RVA Music Fest. All around town there were DJ’s and bands performing. I made it out to the Hat Factory where Ameera (Facebook) and HeavyGrinder were performing and to New York Deli where my good friend DJ Epoc (Facebook) was spinning. More after the jump.
The day after being freakishly busy, I had a chance to edit some photos and go out to things I wanted to go out to. I started at the Hat Factory where HeavyGrinder was headlining. I saw her for the first time at RVAlution and she was pretty good. Opening was the Nintendo DJ’s followed by Ameera singing. I wanted to challenge myself a little and not use flash during the performance. I think it turned out pretty well. I was wandering the dance floor, trying to get the right angle. I noticed a stage light to her left and saw it was pointing straight at her, so I went to the right and was able to capture the image above.
Shortly after, HeavyGrinder got on and started her set. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had to make my way to New York Deli. I was already one hour behind my planned schedule.
I walk in to a hot, sweaty, packed New York Deli. The AC was running, but there were so many people dancing their shoes off that it just got super hot inside. Everyone was having a blast. I got to the DJ table and started getting my equipment ready and saying hello to all of my friends. I was shooting a little bit, but I was also catching up with friends and dancing. I must admit that I always have fun at these events. We are all so close knit and it just makes for a good atmosphere.
Everybody was dancing hard and just danced the night away. Probably the best night of my weekend that started on Thursday.
